May is Bike Month!
Why bike? Riding a bicycle is a great way to get outside, exercise, and refresh your mind. Physical activity, such as 20 minutes of cycling a day, is proven to lower the risk for chronic disease like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer. Transportation accounts for more than half of Humboldt County's greenhouse gas pollution. Replacing a car trip with a bicycle trip lowers your carbon footprint. Plus, biking can save you money! You will see your neighborhood from a different perspective and get to know your community through a fun and inspiring interest.
